This practice was introduced to me through the pages of This Book is Not Required, a "college survival" book by Inge Bell. (Bell was an iconoclastic sociology professor, with a refreshing view of college life and a bent towards Buddhism. I recommend her book to anyone attending, or thinking of attending college.)
- Set your alarm 15 minutes earlier than you normally would.
- When you wake up, spend that 15 minutes walking around your room, or whatever area you sleep in, as slowly as you possibly can.
- The rest of the day, do everything at about 50% speed.
The results of this exercise are quite intriguing, and are best experienced, not explained.
